LAIQON AG has announced a change within its Supervisory Board. Mr Jörg Ohlsen, a serving member of the Supervisory Board, will terminate his mandate prematurely. This decision, taken for personal reasons, will become effective on 31 August 2026.
The premature termination of mandates in executive bodies is a common occurrence in the corporate world. Such steps require careful planning and communication to ensure continuity and stability in corporate governance. LAIQON AG now faces the task of finding a suitable successor for Mr Ohlsen.
Replacement Process
LAIQON AG's internal structure stipulates that vacancies on the Supervisory Board are filled in accordance with the applicable articles of association and stock corporation law provisions. This typically involves a multi-stage selection process that ensures both the qualification and independence of the future Supervisory Board member. The appointment to a Supervisory Board position also requires a court order, which secures the legitimacy of the new member until the next Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting is then responsible for the regular election of the candidate.
The Supervisory Board plays a central role in overseeing the management and strategic direction of a company. The appointment to such a position therefore has significant importance for corporate governance and the long-term development of LAIQON AG. The selection is made considering the specific requirements for expertise and experience necessary for carrying out this responsibility.
The company will inform about the succession in due course. Until his departure becomes effective, Mr Ohlsen will continue to fully perform his duties on the Supervisory Board to ensure an orderly transition. This underscores the diligence with which such personnel changes are carried out in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance.
