The European real estate company Covivio has finalised further lease agreements for its ICON by Covivio office complex in Düsseldorf's Friedrichstadt district. These transactions encompass a total area of approximately 3,000 square metres and expand the property's tenant structure.
Approximately 1,500 square metres of the space have been leased to Chartered Investment, a specialist FinTech company for investment infrastructure. The design of these spaces was carried out in close consultation with the tenant to meet their specific functional requirements. Additionally, another 1,500 square metres have been leased to Memox, a provider of event spaces and associated services.
Memox provides high-quality premises and comprehensive services for conferences, workshops, and other event formats. This addition to the offering at ICON by Covivio, featuring flexibly usable meeting and event spaces, is available to both existing tenants of the building and external clients. This strengthens the property's hospitality concept and creates a professional setting for diverse gatherings.
Concept and Awards
ICON by Covivio is characterised by a usage concept that integrates work, encounters, and leisure. For this approach, the property was honoured with the ICONIC AWARD 2026 in the “Concept Transformation” category. This award is presented by the German Design Council, with an independent jury of experts from architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, product design, circular design, and academia recognising pioneering architectural projects and sustainable solutions.
Katharina Greis, COO Office at Covivio Deutschland, stated that ICON by Covivio combines high-quality working environments with inviting indoor and outdoor communal areas, as well as a diverse range of services. This equally supports encounters, exchange, and productive work, which is particularly significant for the daily office life of the new tenant Chartered Investment. Greis also emphasised that with Memox, the service offering is expanded to include flexible meeting and event spaces, thereby strengthening the hospitality concept and creating added value for tenants and external users.
Erik Nocht, Head of Business Development & Real Estate at Memox, commented that the new location in ICON by Covivio represents an important step for Memox to offer high-quality meeting and event spaces with comprehensive service to companies in Düsseldorf. He highlighted that clients are looking for a place where collaboration succeeds and people enjoy coming together. This requires flexible set-ups, reliable technology, high-quality catering, and a team that provides hospitable support. This overall experience can be created at ICON by Covivio. Nocht added that the new location in Düsseldorf strengthens the comprehensive offering in the most important German office markets for events that connect people and foster collaboration.
