Data software company Databricks has significantly expanded its office space at 5 Bryant Park in New York City. Less than a year after moving in, the company doubled its presence. This substantial lease expansion is to accommodate a growing workforce at Databricks' research, development, and engineering hub in New York City, according to a company blog post on Monday.
The company's now doubled office space totals 120,000 square feet. The additional premises are located on floors 2, 3, and 4 of the building. Databricks had originally signed a lease for 60,000 square feet on the 5th and 6th floors of the building in December 2022. This renewed expansion underscores the rapid growth and strategic importance of the location.
Strategic Expansion at the Midtown Location
The decision to expand the space at 5 Bryant Park reflects the development of Databricks, which has evolved into a leading company in the field of AI and data analytics. The attractiveness of the Midtown Manhattan location, close to key transport links and technological hubs, is crucial for attracting and retaining talent. The company intends to further enhance its innovative strength in data management and artificial intelligence.
Michael Burt of CBRE, who represented Databricks in both the original lease and the current expansion, said the company recognised that 5 Bryant Park was the ideal location to accommodate its rapidly growing workforce. This demonstrates Databricks' long-term commitment to New York City and its expectations for continued growth in the region.
