The Munich Airport Business Park (MABP) in Hallbergmoos is seeing the new establishment of DEKRA Akademie. It has signed a lease for an area of approximately 735 square metres in the Sirius Office Center. The DEKRA HealthCare Campus Airport Munich will be developed there in the coming months. This location will focus on the qualification of skilled personnel in the healthcare and nursing sectors. The start of trial operations is planned for September 2026.
The future campus consolidates the training and further education programmes offered by DEKRA HealthCare Training, a specialised division within DEKRA Akademie. The curriculum includes qualifications in the hygiene, nursing, emergency, rescue, and KRITIS (critical infrastructure) sectors within healthcare and nursing. DEKRA Akademie is also active in other industries. The educational offerings are aimed at skilled workers and are provided in competency-based online, hybrid, and in-person formats.
Practical Integration and Facilities
A key component of the facilities is a medical device reprocessing unit (AEMP) specifically designed for training purposes. DEKRA Akademie points out that such a facility at a training centre is a unique selling point. The offering is supplemented by specially equipped simulation rooms, which enable realistic training in various specialist disciplines. Further synergy arises from cooperation with the Airport Clinic. This grants participants access to the clinic's own AEMP and enables them to undertake internships.
The development of training and qualification programmes is carried out independently by the DEKRA HealthCare Campus. Experts from the healthcare sector develop the learning programmes and continuously adapt them to current requirements in the healthcare and nursing system. This ensures the rapid integration of new regulatory, technical, and practical developments into the curricula. With this new location, DEKRA is responding to the existing shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare and nursing sector. The aim is practical training that specifically prepares nursing staff from Germany and abroad for the German labour market.
Significance for the Hallbergmoos Location
Alexander Mademann, Head of Economic Development for the municipality of Hallbergmoos, emphasised the significance of DEKRA Akademie as an educational provider that fills a societal gap in the practical qualification of skilled workers in the healthcare and nursing sector. The close proximity to the Airport Clinic generates added value for theory and practice. The establishment also underlines the versatility of the industry mix in the MABP.
Danja Leko, Area Sales Manager South Region at Sirius Facilities GmbH, operator of the Sirius Office Center, expressed her delight at securing such a renowned educational provider. She highlighted that the healthcare and nursing sector represents a future-oriented theme and that the provided spaces offer a suitable setting for this important training centre. With DEKRA Akademie, the MABP expands its industry spectrum to include an education and healthcare provider, once again affirming its versatility as a business location in the Munich region.
