NEO Leipzig continues its successful leasing trajectory, marking another significant milestone with the establishment of Distrikt Marquet. Following the Frankfurt location, the second food hall from Food Affairs, a subsidiary of Compass Group Germany, will open in NEO Leipzig. The landlord of NEO has now officially confirmed the establishment of the catering concept, plans for which had already been communicated.
A modern food hall is being created across approximately 3,000 square metres, spread over two levels in the historic former department store on Petersstraße. This integrates international catering concepts with regional partners. The offering will be complemented by bars, coffee and grab-and-go concepts, as well as changing pop-ups and events. The aim is to create an urban meeting point for residents, visitors and employees in the city centre.
Concept and Choice of Location
Madjid Djamegari, Head of Food Affairs, commented on the concept: the company aims to develop a place in the NEO Leipzig food hall whose added value extends beyond culinary provision. The aspiration is to bring people together and entertain them through enjoyment, atmosphere and experiences, in order to establish a new urban meeting point in the city centre.
Alexandra Wagner, Asset Manager at ec Advisors GmbH, emphasised the significance of Distrikt Marquet for NEO Leipzig. She highlighted that the concept, as an exceptional catering offering, goes far beyond traditional gastronomic approaches. Food Affairs' decision to choose Leipzig as its second location in Germany after Frankfurt underscores the attractiveness of the district and the potential of Leipzig's city centre. According to her, the food hall will represent an important component in the development of NEO into an urban meeting point with high quality of stay.
Continuous Development of NEO Leipzig
The establishment of Distrikt Marquet is part of NEO Leipzig's strategic alignment to integrate strong brands and innovative concepts. Only recently, the opening of Saxony's first NIKE Flagship Store was announced, marking another milestone for the district. The second German Distrikt Marquet food hall follows as another highlight, underscoring the dynamic development of NEO Leipzig. The management of NEO Leipzig announced that further renowned tenants will be revealed in the coming months. A vibrant district is gradually emerging here in the heart of Leipzig's city centre, encompassing a mix of international retail, innovative catering, modern office spaces and urban qualities of stay.
