Eight Advisory, an independent, internationally active consulting firm for transactions, restructuring, and transformation, has appointed Christopher Schwab as Partner in Transaction Services. This appointment is a response to the increased client demand in the DACH region for qualified advisory services in complex financial transactions, particularly in the context of carve-outs. Mr. Schwab joined the Transaction Services team at the Cologne office at the beginning of July 2026.
Mr Schwab has over 20 years of expertise in auditing and transaction advisory, which he gained at a Big 4 firm. Throughout his career, he has advised strategic investors and financial investors on a wide range of national and international transactions. As an auditor and tax advisor, his advisory focus is on buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence. He possesses particular expertise in complex carve-out and separation situations where financial, operational, and strategic parameters must be coordinated to realise value potential.
Expansion of sector expertise and response to market demands
With the appointment of Christopher Schwab, Eight Advisory is expanding its Transaction Services offering in the DACH region. The decision reflects the sustained demand for specialised advice on mergers and acquisitions. The need for support with carve-outs is increasing as companies strategically streamline their portfolios. At the same time, requirements are rising due to regulatory provisions, compliance demands, and a more challenging financing environment, which increases the complexity of transactions.
Buyers are placing increasing emphasis on operational independence and stable earnings in carve-outs. Agreements for the temporary joint use of corporate resources, such as IT systems, are also gaining relevance. Eight Advisory advises clients on the design of Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs) and further steps towards the independence of separated business units.
Michael Wahl, Managing Partner Germany, commented on the appointment by stressing that business in Germany and across the entire DACH region is experiencing significant growth. He explained that by expanding its financial transactions offering, Eight Advisory is responding to client demand for comprehensive advice on complex transactions and carve-outs. With Christopher Schwab, the company gains an expert who combines technical understanding with pragmatic implementation competence and expands the sector expertise in the chemical industry.
Christopher Schwab added that companies today face various challenges and uncertainties that make transactions more demanding but can also create opportunities for value enhancement. He highlighted that his focus is on assisting clients with strategic and transaction-related decisions and achieving optimal results together.
