The Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum (RRZ) reports another significant lease extension. Fielmann, a long-standing tenant of the centre, has prematurely prolonged its contract for another five years. This is part of a comprehensive modernisation strategy which includes a significant expansion of the existing sales area to almost 300 square metres. This measure demonstrates the company's confidence in the location and the market conditions within the Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum.
The new, enlarged branch will receive a completely new shop design as part of the refurbishment. In addition to the Fielmann collection, the expanded offering will include a selection of spectacles from various brands and designers. Furthermore, the location will also offer the adjustment of digital hearing systems in the future. During the construction phase, Fielmann will temporarily relocate to an alternative space in the centre's basement to ensure continuous business operations and customer service.
Strategic Development and Confirmation of the Location
Olaf Ley, CEO Retail Germany at Eurofund Group, commented on the lease extension. He highlighted that the long-term securing of the location and Fielmann's associated investment represent a strong signal for the positive development of the Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum. Fielmann has been an established and successful tenant partner for many years. The decision to expand and modernise confirms the attractiveness of the Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum as a retail location and the effectiveness of the existing development strategy.
Laura Eckert, Branch Manager at Fielmann, emphasised the desire to continue the long-standing partnership with the Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum. She stated that the investment in an almost doubled sales area and a new shop design aims to optimise the shopping experience and expand the product range for customers. The Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum offers an attractive environment for this and is consistently developing as part of its repositioning.
Comprehensive Modernisation Wave in the Centre
Fielmann's investment is one of several measures undertaken by other established existing tenants. Currently, dm and Hunkemöller are also investing in new shop concepts and modernised spaces within the Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum. These long-term contract extensions and modernisations demonstrate the confidence of retail partners in the future of the location and support the comprehensive transformation of the centre. Eurofund Group is also strengthening the Rhein-Ruhr Zentrum's position as one of the leading shopping destinations in North Rhine-Westphalia through the consistent further development of its tenant mix, targeted investments in quality of stay, and the modernisation of numerous areas. The decisions of renowned brands demonstrate the centre's growing attractiveness and the successful progress of its realignment.
