Fifth Third Bank, a significant financial institution, is expanding its office presence at Rockefeller Center. The company has extended its headquarters at 50 Rockefeller Plaza, a Tishman Speyer building, by approximately 11,000 square feet. This increases the total area to 32,347 square feet. The existing lease, along with the new space, runs until February 2034, as announced by the landlord.

Tishman Speyer did not immediately disclose the exact asking rent for the building. However, the average asking rent for office space in Midtown in the second quarter of 2026 was $86.18 per square foot, according to a report by CBRE. Fifth Third Bank signed its original lease in 2022.

Strategic expansion at Rockefeller Center

Joshua Landau, Head of Corporate Client Banking at Fifth Third Bank, commented on the expansion, emphasising that Rockefeller Center is an exceptional location for his team and that the expansion represents a natural next step. He added that the 50 Rockefeller Plaza location supports the ability to attract and retain talented professionals, while also providing a welcoming hub for clients. Colleagues from across the company's network were regularly impressed by the energy of Rockefeller Center, which confirms the decision to deepen their commitment there.

EB Kelly, Head of Rockefeller Center at Tishman Speyer, interpreted Fifth Third Bank's expansion as a strong endorsement of the workplace environment they are establishing across the entire Rockefeller Center campus. Since moving in in 2022, Fifth Third Bank has become a valued part of the community, and Tishman Speyer is delighted to support its continued growth in New York.

Tenant structure at 50 Rockefeller Plaza

Blythe Kinsler of Tishman Speyer represented the landlord internally during the negotiations. On the tenant's side, a team from CBRE consisting of Joe Cabrera, Kevin Torch, and Michael Ciotta acted. CBRE did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

  • Republic Capital Group, an investment manager, took 2,800 square feet in 2023.
  • The accounting firm Citrin Cooperman leased 110,742 square feet in 2019.

The 16-storey building in Midtown houses other notable tenants. It is currently unclear whether the space used by Citrin Cooperman has changed since the pandemic.
