The fitness chain FitX, headquartered in Essen, is expanding its presence in Aachen. On 19 September 2026, the second location in the city will commence operations. The new studio is centrally located at Matthiashofstraße 47-49-51, on the corner of Franzstraße. With this opening, FitX complements its existing studio at Aachener Europaplatz and increases its nationwide presence to a total of 114 locations.
The new studio occupies a total area of approximately 2,300 square metres, spread across two floors. These areas were previously used for commercial purposes and have now been extensively converted into a modern fitness environment according to FitX standards. The investment sum for this location amounts to approximately EUR 2.5 million. The new studio is FitX's 60th location in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The studio is characterised by modern training equipment and a well-conceived spatial concept, which integrates an innovative design language and harmonised colour scheme. Members have access to seven specific training areas that cover a wide range of training needs. These include a course room exceeding 300 square metres, equipped with an Ambilight lighting system, where 37 live courses are offered weekly. A free weights area with approximately three tonnes of dumbbell weight, a cardio area with state-of-the-art equipment, an equipment area, and a Lady Gym specially designed for women are also part of the offering. For functional training, a gymnastics corner is available, while the BASICS area is designed for coordinated strength equipment for effective training of all muscle groups.
The location of the new facility in Aachen boasts optimal transport links. The 'Alter Posthof' bus stop is directly in front of the building and is served by numerous bus lines. Both Aachen Central Station and the city centre around Aachen Cathedral are within walking distance. Parking spaces in the adjacent underground car park and bicycle parking spaces at the building are also available for members.
FitX offers a transparent service model. The monthly cost is EUR 29. This amount includes 24-hour opening times, individual training supervision, an extensive range of courses, and the use of the seven training areas. Furthermore, free drinks, showers, and parking are included. The one-off registration fee is EUR 29. The membership wristband allows training at all FitX studios nationwide.
Various promotions will be offered for the opening on 19 September 2026, starting at 9:00 AM. New members who register by 20 September 2026 will have their registration fee waived and receive two months of free training. For registrations between 21 September and 4 October 2026, the registration fee will also be waived. A taster course schedule begins on 21 September, with the regular course schedule featuring all 37 courses starting on 19 October 2026. Simultaneously with the new Aachen studio, FitX's first location in Leverkusen will also open on 19 September.
