The Gerberquartier project in Worms is undergoing a restructuring of its arrangements. Ehret+Klein AG has initiated the transfer of the project company into trustee administration by the commercial law firm Dentons. The aim of this measure is to stabilise the financial basis of the project company and to prepare for an orderly divestment process. These steps became necessary after preliminary insolvency proceedings regarding the assets of Senioren Wohnen Holding GmbH, which holds 50 per cent of the shares in this joint venture, commenced in 2025, significantly restricting the project company's operational capacity.

The implementation of the trustee structure was carried out in agreement with the financing bank. Ehret+Klein AG is covering the financing for the trustee arrangement. A standstill agreement further contributes to financial security. The overarching goals are to restore the operational capacity of the project company and to achieve the best possible realisation of the plot in the interests of all involved parties. Discussions are currently underway with various regional interested parties, which are at an advanced stage.

Sebastian Wasser, CEO of Ehret+Klein AG, explained that a viable and forward-looking solution was developed together with partners in a challenging situation. The newly established structure restores the project company's capacity to act and enables an orderly sales process. Maximilian Neumann, Head of Investments at Ehret+Klein AG, added that the willingness of all parties involved to openly analyse the situation and develop a robust structure was crucial. This lays the foundation for an orderly sales process and a reliable outlook for the Gerberquartier.

The area concerned, which spans approximately 16,000 square metres and is located between Schönauer Straße, Gerbergasse, and Pankratiusgasse in Worms, is designed for the development of around 200 residential units. The focus is on multi-generational living, complemented by commercial spaces and a hotel. The overarching development goal is to create a vibrant, central quarter. Ehret+Klein AG has been involved with this joint project since 2021. The current plans are well advanced; the existing building permit was recently extended until 2030. A successful sale would enable the timely continuation of the project development.

It is emphasised that this process exclusively concerns the project company Gerberquartier Worms GmbH & Co. KG. There are no implications for other projects or companies managed by Ehret+Klein AG.
