The GreenTech Capital Forum is establishing itself as a European investment format aiming to support the financing of the green transformation. The event, taking place on 24 September 2026 in Lokhalle Freiburg, focuses on the targeted convergence of innovation-driven startups and specialised capital providers. The emphasis is on concrete interactions and the development of robust financing prospects, rather than merely on a high number of contacts.

The forum targets startups that are in the pre-seed to Series A stages. Essential criteria for participation include scalable business models, strong teams, and the development of solutions that promote the principles of a circular, climate-neutral and smart economy. This selection ensures that only investment-ready companies with high potential are presented.

For participating startups, the format offers direct access to qualified investors. This includes a guarantee of 1:1 meetings, which are optimised through targeted matching based on the funding phase, capital requirements, and the capital provider's specific investment focus. Furthermore, startups gain increased visibility within the event and benefit from a clear follow-up structure that supports the subsequent fundraising phase. The curation and coordination between startups and investors take place in advance of the event, with investors providing details on their ticket size, preferred focus areas, and current investment timelines.

On the investors' side, the forum addresses a wide range of players, including VCs, impact investors, business angel networks, family offices, and strategic investors. Their primary interest lies in the energy, construction, and industrial technology sectors. The goal for these capital providers is to generate qualified deal flow, efficiently expand their own pipeline, and gain access to European high-tech and impact startups that are essential for the green transformation.

The GreenTech Capital Forum's programme is designed to foster effective exchange. It includes pitches from selected startups, curated investor discussions, and focused dialogue. A significant component of the forum is the concluding Make-It-Matter Award Ceremony. As part of this award presentation, a total of 33,500 EUR will be awarded to the three most impactful GreenTech startups at the event. This award underscores the forum's commitment to recognising and promoting outstanding innovations that have a measurable positive impact on a more sustainable economy.
