Peter Gross Bau, in cooperation with Merziger Verwaltungsgesellschaft für Wohnungswirtschaft mbH & Co. KG, carried out the official ground-breaking ceremony for a residential project in Merzig. Two multi-family houses will be erected at the addresses "Zum Wiesenhof" and "Am Graben". The construction project is designed to create a total of 44 publicly funded and accessible residential units, thereby expanding the supply of affordable housing in the district town.
Each of the four-storey buildings will comprise 22 residential units. The living spaces vary between 47 and 95 square metres. Within these structures, an additional four flats per building are specifically designed for wheelchair users. The rent control for the new flats is set for 30 years, which ensures the long-term provision of affordable housing. The total investment for the project amounts to approximately EUR 9 million.
Technical Details and Schedule
The L-shaped buildings are characterised by a gross floor area of approximately 2,140 square metres each and are equipped with two lifts. Peter Gross Bau is undertaking the construction of both buildings as general contractor in turnkey solid construction. The shell construction work is estimated to take around six months, while the subsequent interior fit-out will take approximately nine months. The complete handover of both multi-family houses is planned for the end of 2027.
