Quest Development GmbH and THE EMBASSIES have announced the conclusion of a long-term lease agreement. This covers significant premises in the Hindenburghaus, located at Großer Burstah 29-31 in Hamburg. With this agreement, one of the prominent properties in Hamburg's city centre will be given a new purpose. THE EMBASSIES will implement its international concept, which includes serviced apartments, a private members' club and a publicly accessible ground floor, for the first time in the Hindenburghaus.

This contract signing is understood by both parties as the beginning of a long-term partnership. THE EMBASSIES has initially leased the premises necessary for the launch of the concept in Hamburg. The intention is to successively take over additional vacant spaces in the property in close consultation with Quest and to gradually expand the concept. The full opening is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The Concept: Living, Working and Meeting

Built in 1909 as a grand hotel, the Hindenburghaus is one of the defining buildings of Hamburg city centre, not far from the Town Hall, Neuer Wall, Alster and Elbphilharmonie. The historic fabric of the property, including elements such as carved stair banisters made from fine woods, large chandeliers and the spaciousness of the rooms, will be preserved and integrated into the new concept. The ground floor will house a café and a concept store, which will be open to the public. Above this, a private members' club of approximately 1,200 square metres will extend, featuring a lounge, co-working areas, a bar, wellness and sauna facilities, and a cultural and community programme. The building will also comprise apartments ranging in size from 40 to 90 square metres.

THE EMBASSIES' offering is primarily aimed at individuals in the second half of life who are seeking alternative forms of living, working and life. At the same time, the building is deliberately designed to be intergenerational: people of different ages are intended to meet in the public areas and apartments. The concept aims to establish a comprehensive service infrastructure for residents, members and the neighbourhood. Daniel Fernandez, Director of Finance at Quest Investment Partners, stated that a usage concept like that of THE EMBASSIES transforms a renovated property back into a vibrant part of the city. Henning Weiß, co-founder of THE EMBASSIES, added that they wanted to reverse the trend in city centres and that THE EMBASSIES could play an exciting role in re-imagined city centres by bringing together living, life and different age groups.

Strategic Reactivation of City Centre Locations

For Quest, the Hindenburghaus joins a growing portfolio of properties that are being activated for future-proof usage concepts in inner-city locations. The partnership with THE EMBASSIES is considered a flagship project. Both companies see the Hindenburghaus as an example of how inner-city properties can be reactivated through innovative concepts for living, working and meeting. Tina Morgenstern, General Manager THE EMBASSIES HAMBURG, emphasised that Hamburg is a suitable location due to its strong club culture to create a private members' club that rethinks community and offers hospitality of the highest standard.

Hamburg represents THE EMBASSIES' first location. Further establishments are in planning, with the aim of building a growing national and international network, initially with a focus on Europe.
