Laura Hines-Pierce remains Co-CEO of the family-owned company Hines, but will be joined in this position by a new partner, Adam Hines. Hines-Pierce joined her father, Jeffrey Hines, in the role of Co-CEO of the investment and development company Hines in February 2022. While the elder Hines now assumes the position of Chairman of the company's Board of Directors, another family member is moving up.
From 1 January, Adam Hines and Laura Hines-Pierce will jointly lead the company's operational business and its strategic direction in the coming years, Hines announced. Furthermore, Hines-Pierce will replace Jeffrey Hines as CEO and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hines Global Income Trust, while Adam Hines will join its Board as a director.
Strategic Leadership Realignment
Jeffrey Hines emphasised in a statement that Hines has always been most successful when thinking beyond the current cycle and planning for the future. He highlighted that Laura Hines-Pierce has already held a leading role as Co-CEO for five years, and Adam Hines has contributed significantly to growth in Europe, in the private wealth sector, and in capital raising. Their leadership is already evident in the company's established structure and platform.
Other positions at Hines are also being re-filled: David Steinbach has been promoted to the company's first President. Alfonso Munk, previously Co-Head of Investment Management, succeeds Steinbach as Hines' Global Chief Investment Officer. Steinbach stated that size only creates an advantage if it improves execution. The opportunity lies in connecting the knowledge of teams across markets, strategies, and functions, so that local insights become shared intelligence and company-wide capabilities create more opportunities on the ground.
Adam Hines' Career Path
Adam Hines was credited with doubling Hines' private wealth business during his time as Chief of Staff to the CEO's Office and Senior Managing Director of the company. He joined Hines in 2017, having previously held several analyst positions at the Australian real asset management company Dexus.
