Planpoint, a real estate marketing platform that converts floor plans and site plans into interactive tools for selling and renting properties, has announced its launch. The Montreal-based start-up is already being used by developers and property teams such as Brigil, Cogir, and Mach. It allows potential buyers and tenants to explore available units while providing teams with a method to keep property information current on websites and in sales presentations.
Planpoint's platform has already registered over 24.7 million views of residential units, 15.3 million floor plan downloads, and 1 million favourites. The company primarily operates in Canada and the USA but also maintains business relationships in London and South Africa.
Functionalities and Applications
Planpoint's Software-as-a-Service platform enables real-time interactive floor plans, 3D tours, and analytics for real estate sales and rentals. Laurent Cardinal, CEO and co-founder of Planpoint, explained how it works: "It's software that allows you to present a property using still images. You can select the floor, view its floor plan, and then each photo is linked to the floor plan, so you can see where the picture was taken. If you tap on the kitchen in the plan, the image of the kitchen appears. If it's an office building, the conference room is displayed."
The platform can be customised for new condominiums, rental apartments, single-family home projects, land developments, senior housing, and commercial properties. Teams can use it portfolio-wide and tailor each presentation to the specific property, as Planpoint announced when emerging from stealth mode.
Planpoint was founded in 2018 and has invested four years in developing its proprietary JavaScript-based software, according to Cardinal. He elaborated: "It's aimed at real estate agents. They will use the platform in their listings, whether in the commercial or residential real estate sector. However, the end user is the tenant looking for a place to rent, or the buyer looking to purchase a property."
Benefits for Real Estate Professionals and Clients
Real estate teams can use Planpoint to showcase availability in context by transforming floor plans into interactive stack plans or site plans. This helps visitors explore units and understand their position within a development. Visitors can then compare their options by viewing units, downloading floor plans, and saving favourites. Real estate teams can publish the platform directly on their own websites by embedding Planpoint into a project website and customising the experience to the property's branding. The software also keeps property information up to date.
Planpoint is currently self-funded and, according to Cardinal, does not plan to raise additional capital in the near future.
