KINGSTONE Investment Management (KINGSTONE IM) is expanding its activities by entering the infrastructure asset class. This is being done through the establishment of KINGSTONE Infrastructure Investments (KII), a joint venture with ADVENTRA Asset Management GmbH. ADVENTRA specialises in institutional infrastructure and real asset investments, with proven expertise in the areas of energy, storage, supply security and resilient infrastructure. The aim of this partnership is to establish and manage specialised infrastructure investment vehicles.

Friedrich von Carlowitz, Karsten Mieth and Maximilian Radert will take over the management of the newly founded company. Strategically, resilience is defined as the guiding principle for all infrastructure investments. The focus is on assets that contribute to the resilience and stability of the economy, state and society. This includes the fields of energy and supply sovereignty, mobility and supply chains, digital infrastructure, as well as security and defence-relevant infrastructure.

Focus on Germany and Neighbouring Markets

The geographical focus of the investments is primarily on Germany. Additionally, investments are planned in Poland and the Netherlands, where the company has its own representative offices. Dr. Tim Schomberg, CEO and founder of KINGSTONE IM, stated that the infrastructure asset class is gaining increasing importance alongside real estate for professional investors, and this represents a consistent step for the company's expansion. Philipp Schomberg, Executive Partner and founder of KINGSTONE IM, emphasised the intention to create a long-term infrastructure platform focusing on resilience-relevant investment solutions and highlighted the expertise of the recruited executives.

Karsten Mieth, founder and Managing Partner of ADVENTRA, pointed to the significant demands on future infrastructure in Germany and Europe, particularly regarding the resilience of the national economy. He stressed that system-relevant projects are becoming increasingly complex and require private capital in addition to public capital. Mieth highlighted that improved framework conditions for institutional investors, including professional valuations and clear regulations, increase the attractiveness of this asset class.

Expertise of the Management Team

The new management team brings extensive experience in infrastructure investments and asset management. Karsten Mieth has over 30 years of experience in strictly regulated fund management for infrastructure investments and real assets. He previously served as Spokesman of the Executive Board at the Encavis Group, an operator of PV power plants and onshore wind farms in Europe, where he was responsible for institutional asset management. Friedrich von Carlowitz, who has been a Managing Director at KINGSTONE Capital Advisory for approximately two years, contributes his comprehensive infrastructure expertise from his previous role at Macquarie. Maximilian Radert complements the team with many years of experience in the development of national and international fund vehicles, the analysis of complex infrastructure markets, and the conceptualisation of capital market-ready investment solutions for institutional investors.
