The Lc² Gruppe, known as an independent consulting and sparring partner for sustainable real estate strategies, is committed as a partner to the NEW bauhaus FESTIVAL in Weimar. The event is scheduled for 2 and 3 September 2026 and aims to bring together relevant stakeholders from the construction and real estate industry, architecture, science, trade, technology, culture, and society.
Michael Rücker, Festival Director of the NEW bauhaus FESTIVAL, emphasised that the Lc² Gruppe is a partner who knows the challenges of transforming existing properties from daily practice. He explained that topics such as digitisation, energy efficiency, operator responsibility, and the future viability of existing buildings will significantly shape the industry in the coming years, and precisely this exchange should be fostered in Weimar. The Lc² Gruppe has been addressing these issues for many years and focuses on ESG criteria, digitisation, operator responsibility, energy efficiency, revitalisation, and the economic operation of properties throughout their entire life cycle.
Strategic Support and Future Viability
Under the motto “PLAN – BUILD – OPERATE – REVITALISE”, the Lc² Gruppe supports owners, investors, asset managers, property managers, and project developers in strategic decisions. Peter Stein, owner and Managing Partner of the Lc² Gruppe, stated that a paradigm shift in the real estate industry is imminent. He pointed out that commercial properties, in particular, would not fail in the future due to a lack of demand, but rather as a result of outdated structures, increasing user demands, insufficient digitisation, and discontinued technical systems. Anyone who does not act today risks significant loss of value tomorrow, according to Stein.
A key focus of the Lc² Gruppe is on existing properties. Many owners face the situation that technical systems are reaching the end of their life cycle and new demands are being placed on energy efficiency, ESG compliance, and user comfort. At the same time, increasing investment needs and changing market conditions lead to increasing complexity in economic decisions. Peter Stein explained that many buildings are in a “yield trap” because investments are postponed, technical risks increase, and at the same time the expectations of tenants, investors, and users rise. The Lc² Gruppe develops solutions that combine economic viability, technical future-proofing, and sustainability.
Active Programme Participation
The Lc² Gruppe will actively participate in the festival programme. Peter Stein, owner and Managing Partner of the company, will discuss the topic “Performance Instead of Promises – The Hot Seat: The Reality of Building Technology” with Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Auer as part of a panel discussion on 03 September 2026 from 12:10 to 12:50 PM.
