A long-term operator has been secured for "The Plant Dortmund" hotel project. Leonardo Hotels will henceforth operate the property, which is located directly opposite the Westfalenhallen Dortmund, under the name Leonardo Royal Dortmund. This agreement ensures continued hotel operation at the location.
The hotel offers 166 rooms and suites. Additionally, its facilities include extensive conference areas, a restaurant, a bar, as well as spa and fitness amenities. Its positioning as an established business and conference hotel in the region stems from its direct proximity to Dortmund's exhibition and congress centre. The concluded long-term lease agreement guarantees the uninterrupted continuation of operational business.
Strategic Investments and Ownership Structure
In parallel with securing operations, a joint investment programme between lessee and lessor is planned. This programme aims to modernise the property. The focus will be on the future-oriented development of the guest rooms and the redesign of the public areas. These measures are intended to sustainably strengthen the location's positioning.
"The Plant Dortmund" property was acquired in 2023 by Investa Capital Management for Union Investment's "Urban Campus Nr. 1 Fund". Since then, Investa Capital Management has been responsible for the property and asset management of the entire site. The newly concluded long-term lease to Leonardo Hotels permanently solidifies the hotel's position within the overarching ensemble.
The collaboration between the parties involved underscores their shared endeavour to secure and further develop the value and attractiveness of the property in the long term. This measure sustainably highlights the strategic importance of the location as an integral part of Dortmund's exhibition and congress environment.
