MERCADEN® Böblingen has concluded three new leases, expanding the offering of the inner-city centre. New additions include the Jeans Fritz and Cookie Lab concepts. Additionally, the unit previously occupied by the existing food service provider Cigköftem has been re-let as part of an operator change, allowing the concept to continue with an expanded product range.
Jeans Fritz will present a range of jeans and casual wear for women and men across an area of 290 square metres. Cookie Lab will offer various biscuit creations on approximately 31 square metres. Cigköftem will continue its range of vegan snacks and dishes on an enlarged 30 square metres.
Strengthening the Tenant Mix and the Location
All three stores will be positioned on the ground floor of MERCADEN® Böblingen. Their openings are planned for the second half of 2026. Letting activities are managed by Sonae Sierra, the operator of MERCADEN® Böblingen, on behalf of the owner.
Edip Özerol, Centre Manager of MERCADEN® Böblingen at Sonae Sierra, expressed a positive view on the new partners. He highlighted that Jeans Fritz, Cookie Lab, and Cigköftem expand the existing tenant mix and increase the variety for visitors to the centre. These developments are interpreted as proof of MERCADEN® Böblingen's appeal and as a positive signal for brick-and-mortar retail in Böblingen.
The current lease agreements are an integral part of the ongoing strategy for the further development of MERCADEN® Böblingen. These measures continuously ensure a contemporary and differentiated shopping and service offering. The location in Böblingen's city centre is strengthened in its function as a retail hub by these successful lettings.
