MIPIM 2027 announces a comprehensive transformation, repositioning the global professional festival for urban development. In addition to the traditional Palais des Festivals, supplementary official venues will be integrated into the urban area of Cannes. This expansion aims to more precisely reflect and incorporate the spectrum of relevant investment themes, from data centres to technology and artificial intelligence, into the event programme.
New locations include a dedicated “Tech & AI Hub” at the Hotel Gray d'Albion. A “Luxury Living & Branded Residences” area will be created on the beach of the JW Marriott. Premium hospitality suites will be available in the Majestic and Carlton hotels. Each of these locations is exclusively accessible to registered MIPIM attendees and combines exhibition spaces with specialist content, networking opportunities, and specific events. These expansions are intended to foster networking among stakeholders driving investment in diverse real estate sectors, including technology innovators, venture capitalists, family offices, luxury brands, and private capital providers.
Focus on New Investment Priorities and Sectors
MIPIM 2027's programme is guided by current market trends and customer feedback to address key investment priorities within the real estate sector. The newly introduced “Resilience Stage” extends discussions beyond decarbonisation. It tackles themes such as climate risks, geopolitical risks, and other challenges relevant to property owners and cities. Furthermore, MIPIM brings sectors to the forefront that have evolved from niche topics into primary investment areas.
The “Data Centres Summit” will be concentrated on Thursday morning as a central meeting point for the entire ecosystem involved in planning, constructing, and financing AI-compatible infrastructure. A specific thematic strand on “Defence”, integrated into the Logistics and Industrial Summit as well as the programmes for Central and Eastern Europe and the Nordic countries, is dedicated to the need for adaptable and multifunctional properties. The “Geostrategies Stage” highlights significant investment markets, including Germany, the Nordic countries, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Central and Eastern Europe.
Strengthening the Residential Property Segment and Exclusive Formats
Given the growing importance of residential properties in global investment strategies, the special forum “Housing Matters” will be fully integrated into MIPIM’s core programme and scheduled for Tuesday morning. This forum brings together investors, developers, public authorities, urban planning experts, and associations. It addresses the question of how to rapidly create more housing while simultaneously meeting requirements for affordability, sustainability, and resilience.
MIPIM 2027 will also continue to feature a series of exclusive, invitation-only summits that gather leading investors, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and political decision-makers. These formats include RE-Family, RE-Invest, the “Political Leaders Summit”, and the “Forum des Élus” for French local politicians. These events underscore MIPIM's role as a central platform for capital providers and political decision-makers.
To optimise the attendee experience, new services and access options are being introduced. In addition to the “Full Pass”, a “One Day Pass” and an enhanced “Premium Pass” are offered, the latter including a networking concierge service. A new networking platform will assist participants with AI-based recommendations in identifying relevant contacts and companies even before arrival. The mobile app will also be revamped. For exhibitors, the “Lead Manager” service complements the new platform, simplifying the capture and qualification of generated contacts and supporting the entire business process from initial contact to follow-up.
