lay County residents now have until January 30, 2026 to pay their real‑estate and personal‑property taxes. The extension follows delays caused by the Senior Real Estate Property Tax Relief Program (SB 190), which pushed many bills past their expected dates. County officials say the new deadline should clear up confusion and ease the burden on taxpayers. No penalties or interest will accrue for payments made by the extended date.
Commissioner Jerry Nolte explained that the county is still working to roll out senior tax relief, and the January 30 extension applies to both real‑estate and personal‑property obligations. Tax bills for parcels enrolled in SB 190 are posted online. Payments for those parcels may be submitted by check, cashier’s check, or money order; electronic or cash payments are currently not accepted for SB 190 properties.
