Compass adds disco flair to SF holiday bash

San Francisco brokerage celebrates holiday season with "disco chic" party.

C
ompass kicked off the holiday season with a "disco chic" party in San Francisco, bringing together agents and staff for an evening of dancing and merriment at Rick and Roxy's. The dress code was "Studio 54 meets 2024," and many agents took the opportunity to break out their sparkly attire. Sam Buckwalter, an agent from the Castro office, wore a sequined jacket he'd owned for years, while Jason Todd donned a full-on sparkly outfit that had been collecting dust since a previous themed party.

Damon Knox, a new Compass agent who joined this summer from Coldwell Banker, bought his red sequined blazer on Amazon after asking Chat GPT to find him an outfit that would make him look like "a disco ball." Despite being a first-timer at the Compass holiday party, Knox was already thinking about giving back, as he planned to attend SFAR's annual Welcome Home Project fundraiser the next day.

Compass' San Francisco offices had pooled their funds to create a more extravagant and festive event than in previous years. Regional Vice President Kevin Patsel called holiday parties an essential part of the real estate experience, where agents can gather with peers, have some holiday cheer, and close out the year on a positive note. For many agents, including Neal Ward, one of Compass' top performers, the party was also an opportunity to look ahead to a stronger spring market in 2025.
