Katie Aittola will take over as senior vice president of supply chain and real estate, and chief procurement officer, beginning Jan. 1. She will lead sourcing, supply‑chain operations, and the real‑estate function—strategic planning, transactions, and facilities management—to support energy delivery across the company’s service territory. Bonnie Titone, EVP and chief administrative officer, praised Aittola’s depth in strategic planning, operational transformation, and enterprise leadership, noting her fit for guiding these critical operations amid the company’s largest generation build. Under Jacobs, Duke Energy’s supply chain earned industry recognition for navigating a dynamic environment. Titone expressed gratitude for Jacobs’ contributions, mentorship, volunteerism, and philanthropy, underscoring his lasting legacy. Aittola, currently SVP of enterprise strategy and insurance and chief risk officer, joined Duke Energy in 2009 and has led risk, strategy, and finance initiatives, reshaping the organization’s risk posture. She previously headed risk, governance, and business support within supply chain. Aittola said, “As we transform the future of energy, delivering outcomes that advance the company and benefit stakeholders remains my focus. Our supply‑chain, real‑estate, and procurement functions are essential enablers of our strategy and have proven best‑in‑class during an extraordinary period of modernization. I’m excited to lead this vital work and the experienced team.”
