lon Musk's future property plans are shrouded in mystery, with rumors swirling about a lavish mansion for his two wives and 11 children. The Tesla owner has reportedly acquired a Tuscany-inspired villa in Texas, which is said to be a family lair where his children and mothers can coexist.
The six-bedroom mansion, hidden behind the main villa, belongs to Musk and boasts an estimated AU$53.25m (US$35m) price tag. As a staunch advocate for population growth through IVF, Musk has reportedly offered his own "magical" contribution to friends and acquaintances, though not all have accepted.
Musk's vision for the estate is part of his broader ambitions, including establishing a Mars colony due to fears about Earth's uncertain future. He has recently shifted focus to increasing family sizes on his platform X (formerly Twitter). However, when rumors about the mysterious family compound began swirling, Musk dismissed them as untrue.
The billionaire inventor claimed he doesn't own or build a compound in Austin and insisted that no such expansive dwelling exists. Despite his net worth topping $412 billion (US$271 billion), Musk's real estate ventures have been subject to speculation over the years.
Musk has divested himself of several properties, including a Bel Air mansion in California, which he initially purchased for $25.85m (US$17m) and later sold to Chinese billionaire William Ding for AU$45.6m (US$30m). He also owned a Los Angeles residence once graced by Gene Wilder, the original Willy Wonka, which was recently returned to the market.
In 2017, Musk acquired a sprawling mansion in Hillsborough, California, for $35.62m (US$23.4m), featuring a lavishly restored and expanded 5-star kitchen. He also purchased a modest tiny home in Boca Chica, Texas, where he would conduct phone calls from a wooden table.
