Former Chicago Estate of Basketball Legend Now Offers Luxury Timeshares for $1 Million

Basketball Icon's Decades-Long Highland Park Estate Becomes Luxury Timeshare

M
ichael Jordan's former Chicago-area mansion, Champions Point, has finally found a new purpose after 12 years on the market. The sprawling Highland Park property, which boasts 32,000 square feet and sits on 7.39 acres, has been sold to real estate investor John Cooper for $9.5 million - a fraction of its original price tag of $29 million.

Cooper plans to transform Champions Point into a luxury timeshare, offering week-long stays starting at $1 million plus a 2% cut of annual costs (approximately $25,000 per co-owner). The property features nine bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, and an array of jaw-dropping amenities, including a regulation-size basketball court, infinity pool, putting green, tennis court, home theater, and cigar lounge.

Co-owners will have the option to throw lavish events, hire private chefs, or arrange luxury transportation for an additional fee. Cooper aims to honor the estate's original design while giving it a modern twist, creating a shared experience where co-owners can enjoy unparalleled amenities and a sense of community.

However, there are strings attached: buyers can only purchase one share per week, must sign a non-disclosure agreement, and are free to sell their shares in the future. This unique opportunity allows sports enthusiasts to own a piece of history and potentially make it a lucrative investment.
