Green Brick Secures Approval for Massive Residential Development in Williamson County

Texas Homebuilder Seeks to Transform Williamson County with New Development Following North Fork MUD Approval.

A
major Texas homebuilder is poised to transform the residential landscape in Williamson County with the recent approval of the North Fork Municipal Utility District. The 343-acre district, greenlit by county commissioners last week, could become a large-scale community between Hutto and Taylor. Green Brick Partners, led by CEO James Brickman, will spearhead the project through its subsidiary GRBK Edgewood.

The location at the intersection of county roads 368 and 369 is expected to be highly sought after for residential development. If North Fork follows a similar model to Green Brick's previous successful projects in the region, such as Trinity Ranch in Elgin, it could result in the construction of up to 1,500 homes. This would be welcome news considering Williamson County's significant population growth, which has increased by 65% between 2010 and mid-2023.

The county's population surge is largely driven by industrial expansion, particularly Samsung's massive semiconductor plant under construction in Taylor. Several other tech companies, including Soulbrain Holdings and Hanwha Advanced Materials, have also established a presence in the area, fueling housing demand.
