rystal Creek Capital, a Wyoming-based real estate investment firm, has taken the reins of Planters Inn, a storied luxury hotel in downtown Charleston's historic heart. The acquisition marks a new chapter for this 64-room gem, built in 1844, as Crystal Creek Hospitality prepares to breathe new life into its classic Southern charm.
"We're honored to join the Charleston community and pledge to preserve the hotel's rich legacy," said Jamie Yarrow, president of Crystal Creek Hospitality. "Our goal is to infuse Planters Inn with the city's unique spirit, ensuring it remains a beacon of Southern hospitality for generations to come."
Planters Inn's traditional design, featuring high ceilings, hickory furnishings, and four-poster beds, pays homage to Charleston's historic mansions. The property boasts 5,500 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting space, including a private courtyard designed by landscape architect Sheila Wetimer, creator of the city's most elegant gardens.
At its core is Peninsula Grill, an award-winning restaurant that has earned Four-Diamond and Four-Star accolades. This culinary gem has gained local and national recognition for its famous 12-layer Ultimate Coconut Cake, a dessert staple on the menu for over two decades.
As Charleston's only Relais & Châteaux property, Planters Inn is poised to continue its legacy under Crystal Creek Capital's stewardship. With an extensive renovation on the horizon, this beloved hotel is set to shine brighter than ever, embodying the essence of Southern hospitality and charm that has captivated visitors for centuries.
