ason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center who retired after the 2023 season, is embarking on a grand home expansion project in Haverford Township that has sparked both admiration and concerns from his neighbors. Since moving into their residence with wife Kylie in 2018, the couple has steadily expanded their real estate footprint by purchasing adjoining properties to create a sprawling estate.
As Kelce's life remains busy with a $100 million podcast deal and an ESPN gig, Kylie has also ventured into podcasting, further solidifying the Kelce brand beyond football. With three young daughters and a fourth child on the way, the couple sought approval from the Haverford Township Zoning Board to modify their Coopertown Road property.
Kelce testified before the board, highlighting the need for security measures to deter foot traffic and protect his family. Landscape architect Matthew Nelson presented a plan that shifts the driveway, introduces aesthetic fencing, and replaces slopes with a well-manicured lawn, aiming to enhance safety while maintaining visual harmony with the neighborhood.
Despite Kelce's carefully planned expansion, some neighbors have expressed concerns about potential flooding and runoff issues due to the removal of slopes. The board acknowledged these risks but approved the variances on condition that effective stormwater management measures would be enforced to safeguard neighboring properties.
Kelce's latest expansion is part of a larger real estate vision that has been years in the making, with him purchasing multiple properties since 2018 and reportedly planning to demolish them all to construct a single, sprawling mansion. His other investments include a beachside retreat in New Jersey and a rental property in his hometown of Cleveland.
With approval now granted, Kelce's dream of a custom-built estate is one step closer to reality, but he will need to balance his vision with the concerns of his neighbors as construction begins.
