onique Baugh, who would have turned 34 two weeks ago, has three children and three men convicted for her 2019 kidnapping and murder. Prosecutors now seek justice against Lyndon Wiggins, whom they view as the main culprit. Assistant Hennepin County Attorney Paige Starkey told the jury that Baugh was a victim, unrelated to the perpetrators, and that her only “crime” was loving an imperfect man. In Wiggins’ retrial, evidence showed Baugh’s boyfriend Jon Mitchell Momoh was the intended target; she was kidnapped and tortured to locate him before being killed. Prosecutors argue Wiggins was ousted from his record label, left behind by Momoh, arrested on drug charges two months prior, and believed Momoh had betrayed him. Defense attorney Sarah Gad countered, noting a lack of clear motive and asserting that Cedric Berry, Berry Davis, and Segura orchestrated the plot, absolving Wiggins. The jury deliberated from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and will reconvene at 9 a.m. Monday.
