eanu Reeves's personal life has been somewhat of an enigma, with limited information available about his homes due to his transient past. The actor spent years living out of hotels and rentals before settling down at 40, buying a Los Angeles property for his mother first. His nomadic upbringing, which included living in Lebanon, Australia, and America before moving to Toronto as a child, likely influenced his lifestyle.

    Reeves's costar Charlize Theron recalled in a 2000 interview that he was initially hesitant to settle down, preferring the freedom of living out of a suitcase. However, by the early 2000s, Reeves had begun house-hunting and eventually found his forever home in the Hollywood Hills, opting for this location over Malibu.

    The Chateau Marmont Hotel, a famous Los Angeles landmark, was one of Reeves's longtime haunts during the '90s and early 2000s. He resided at a suite within the hotel, often wandering its grounds and developing a close relationship with staff. In a 2019 article, journalist Tom Zito recounted his experience living next door to Reeves in the Chateau, describing the actor's friendly demeanor and sense of community.

    Reeves purchased his first home in 2003 for approximately $5 million, a contemporary glass-walled structure in the Hollywood Hills. The 5,600-square-foot property features expansive ocean and city views, as well as walls designed for displaying art. Despite being the site of several break-ins during Reeves's ownership, including two instances in 2014 and an alleged stalker trespassing multiple times in 2023, the actor has maintained a sense of security within his home.

    Reeves has spoken fondly of the hotel's atmosphere during his time there, describing it as an "unsafe safe harbor" where he could have wild and crazy times. The beloved landmark continues to serve as Reeves's preferred setting for interviews.

The property features a koi pond, three fireplaces, stone floors, an infinity pool, and a central courtyard.
