Local Agent Weighs in on Zillow's Real Estate Dispute

Compass sues Zillow over alleged improper real estate listing practices.

A
Quincy real estate agent is speaking out against the lawsuit filed by Compass against Zillow, calling it a misguided move. Jeremy Farlow believes that Zillow's new rule requiring home sellers to list their properties on the site within one day will actually increase exposure and get more houses on the market quickly.

Farlow notes that this approach mirrors the strategy used by the National Association of Realtors, which prioritizes maximum exposure for listings. As one of the top listing websites, Zillow offers a significant advantage in terms of visibility, according to Farlow.

In contrast, Compass uses a model that limits who can see a listing, which Farlow sees as counterproductive in a city like Quincy struggling with a housing crisis. He believes that limiting exposure does a disservice to sellers and hinders the sale of properties.
