64-year-old man accused of attacking a real estate agent at an open house remains in jail without bond. The Rankin County district attorney has filed a motion to keep Jerry Dennis behind bars, citing charges of capital kidnapping, sexual battery, armed robbery, and use of a deadly weapon.

    Dennis will undergo a mental evaluation while in custody. According to court documents, the incident occurred three weeks ago at a home on Cedar Ridge Boulevard in Pearl. The victim said Dennis entered the house, claiming he was interested in viewing the property, and then pulled out a gun during a struggle.

    The victim managed to bite Dennis's arm before he hit her with the pistol. She alleged that Dennis forced her to undress at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her. Afterward, he allegedly told her not to report the incident, took her car keys and phone, and left. Deputies later arrested him at a home in Rankin County.
