uxury real estate brokers Oren Alexander, 37, and his twin brother Alon Alexander were arrested on Wednesday in connection with a sexual assault investigation that allegedly involved dozens of victims over the past decade or more. The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office said the brothers were taken into custody following a joint investigation into allegations of sex trafficking and rape.
According to court records, prosecutors believe the assaults may have started as far back as when the brothers were in high school in Miami, over two decades ago. An indictment from New York charges all three Alexander brothers - Oren, Alon, and Tal - with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking of victims by force, fraud or coercion.
The indictment alleges that the brothers used their positions in the real estate industry to meet women they targeted for assault, often using luxury experiences and travel as lures. In some cases, they allegedly drugged their victims before assaulting them, preventing them from fighting back or escaping. The brothers and others involved obtained drugs including cocaine, mushrooms, and GHB, and on multiple occasions secretly drugged women's drinks.
Alon and Oren Alexander were booked into a Miami-Dade jail on sexual battery charges. Their cousin, Ohad Fisherman, is also facing charges in the investigation but remains at large. The Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office said the charges derive from three separate incidents involving three different victims.
At a news conference, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle described one incident where the twins and Fisherman allegedly gang-raped a woman who had been invited to a barbecue at their apartment. In another incident, Oren Alexander allegedly raped a woman after giving her a glass of wine that made her lose control of her body.
The brothers' luxury real estate firm, Official, has offices in Miami and New York and operates in the Hamptons and Aspen. They have brokered several high-profile sales, including a nearly $240 million sale of a penthouse in 2019 and a $50 million property on Indian Creek Island.
Fernandez Rundle urged any possible victims to come forward, saying she's hopeful there aren't other victims in Miami-Dade. The brothers' attorney confirmed that they were arrested but denied wrongdoing in the accusations.
