ohamed Hadid's infamous megamansion, once dubbed the "Starship Enterprise" by neighbors, is up for sale in a sealed-bid auction. The partially demolished property, which was valued at $50 million, has been reduced to its concrete foundations and is being sold with no reserve starting at $7.9 million.

    The 15,000-square-foot site, located in Bel-Air, was previously ordered to be torn down due to safety concerns after a judge deemed it a potential hazard for the neighborhood. Sahara Construction purchased the property at auction for $5 million in 2021 and has since carefully demolished the structure, meeting court-ordered requirements.

    The property's history dates back to 2014 when Hadid began construction on his planned megamansion, which was initially intended to be 30,000 square feet. However, after years of battling with the city, a judge ordered him to tear it down in 2019 due to concerns that the structure could collapse and take part of the neighborhood with it.

    Sahara Construction listed the property for $18 million last fall but removed the listing when it failed to sell. Now, Premiere Estates Auction Company's Todd Wohl is optimistic about the sale, stating that the demolition costs are behind them, and the site is now safe for a new development.
