NBA Star Ben Simmons Lists Brooklyn Mansion for $16.9M Amid Career Shift

Simmons says goodbye to his Olympia Dumbo condo, featuring a custom shoe closet.

B
en Simmons, the Australian-born former Brooklyn Nets point guard, is selling his ultra-luxury Dumbo condo for nearly $17 million. The 28-year-old is on his way to the Los Angeles Clippers after a contract buyout with the Nets last month and has decided to part with his five-bedroom home.

Simmons purchased the combined units in the Olympia Dumbo tower for $14 million in 2023, creating a sprawling 5,261-square-foot space on the 21st floor. The condo boasts an impressive array of features, including a gaming room with Gucci wallpaper and views of the Manhattan Bridge, a home theater with daybeds suitable for Simmons' 6'10" frame, and a walk-in shoe closet.

The real showstopper is the condo's 332-square-foot wraparound terrace, offering breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. The listing also includes five bathrooms and two half bathrooms, an open chef's kitchen, a wet bar, heated floors, and an entertainment and guest wing with a home theater.

Simmons' personal touches are evident throughout the condo, including a bedroom-turned-home gym, a floor-to-ceiling acrylic display case filled with his collection of vinyl bear statues, and a custom shoe closet. The listing is held by Monica Novo at Douglas Elliman.

The Olympia Dumbo tower has become a hotspot for the rich and famous since its opening in early 2023, attracting interest from tennis star Naomi Osaka, actor Michael B. Jordan, and Oscar-winning duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. However, it remains to be seen whether Simmons can replicate the luxury and style of his Dumbo condo with his new Los Angeles home.
