rlando Bloom is being drawn into his fiancée Katy Perry's real estate battle over a $15 million California mansion she won from Carl Westcott, an 85-year-old bedridden veteran. A civil subpoena has been issued for Bloom to appear in court next year, scheduled for February 25, 2025.
Perry claims Westcott owes her millions in damages after she was ruled the owner of his Montecito estate last year. The pop star won a years-long legal fight with Westcott over the sale of his home, which he had agreed to sell during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Westcott tried to back out of the deal citing mental health issues and lack of capacity.
Despite being ruled in Perry's favor, the case continues as she seeks damages for loss of use and additional damage to the property since her purchase. Initially, she requested $2.67 million but now claims over $5.5 million. The trial is set to resume in February 2025.
Orlando Bloom has been involved in renovations at Westcott's estate, which Perry's team claims is evidence that she is seeking more than just repairs. Westcott's son Chart says Bloom is a material witness and that Perry is trying to make his family pay for renovations as well as damages.
Perry also purchased another home in Montecito in 2020, just months after buying Westcott's estate. This isn't her first real estate feud; she famously clashed with Los Angeles nuns over the sale of their former convent in the mid-2010s.
