Paris Hilton's LA Mansion Sale Fuels Local Real Estate Boom

Los Angeles real estate tops list of top 10 most expensive homes sold in June, per Redfin.

L
uxury real estate sales in Los Angeles are on fire, with five of the top 10 most expensive homes sold in June being located in California. According to Redfin, three of these high-end properties were in Beverly Hills, one in Bel Air, and one in Atherton. The $118 million mansion on Bel Air Road is generating "constant showings" thanks to strong interest from buyers displaced by wildfires, as well as foreign investors, particularly from China.

Nicole Plaxen, an agent with The Beverly Hills Estates, attributes the surge in luxury sales to these factors. She notes that her listings are seeing significant activity, with one property on Flicker Way receiving strong interest and another LA spec home selling off-market for around $60 million. "People are not just looking, they're putting pen to paper," she said.

The most expensive sale of the month was a Beverly Hills mansion sold to Paris Hilton and her husband Carter Reum for $63 million, a significant profit after accounting for Los Angeles' mansion tax. This sale follows Mark Wahlberg's recent sale of his Beverly Hills mansion for $55 million, which some brokers deemed low.

Plaxen also mentioned that Richard Saghian, the CEO of Fashion Nova, recently purchased a $32 million LA spec home to use as a temporary residence while he completes improvements on his Bel Air megamansion, The One. The property spans over 100,000 square feet and was sold at auction for $126 million in 2022.

The top 10 most expensive homes sold in June include properties in California, Florida, New York, and Nevada.
