rand Prairie has annexed 1,500 acres on its southern border to accommodate the development of Goodland, a massive master-planned community spearheaded by Dallas-based Provident Realty Advisors. The 5,000-acre project will feature over 15,000 residential units, shops, restaurants, schools, and public spaces.
"This significant step in our city's development" is how Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen described the annexation. Goodland will be connected to Grand Prairie via Goodland Parkway, set for completion within a year. The site, near U.S. 287 and Mansfield, offers easy access to downtown Dallas and Fort Worth, as well as growing populations in Ellis and Johnson counties.
The development will cater to diverse housing needs, from townhomes to custom-built residences and gated active adult communities. It will also feature regional sports fields, event venues, churches, and parks. This project is part of a larger trend of growth in the area, with recent developments including a 10-megawatt battery storage facility and a 300-unit multifamily complex.
Additionally, Silicon Valley-based investor GPR Ventures has acquired the DFW Corporate Park, a 211,000-square-foot industrial complex at 2100 State Highway 360. The complex offers warehouse, office, and showroom space across 22 buildings.
