t the Dallas location, the East Texas A&M University College of Business's Finance Society hosted a dynamic panel discussion featuring four accomplished women leaders from Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). The event drew 25 engaged students eager to learn from the career journeys and insights of Lydia Traylor, Vice President at Root Engineering Services P.C.; Cathy Janke, Senior Vice President at Fifth Third Bank; Rachel Schnitzius, Principal and Director of Interiors at HOK; and Najdi Rafaty, Principal and Founder at Linc Commercial Realty.

    The panelists shared their paths into commercial real estate, offering students a glimpse into the industry's evolving landscape. Topics included the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable development, and organizational strategies for attracting emerging talent. Dr. Pratima, Assistant Professor of Finance and Faculty Advisor to the Finance Society, noted that the discussion highlighted AI as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for human talent, emphasizing the importance of quality input.

    The conversation also touched on institutional investor expectations regarding green building certifications and environmental responsibility, providing students with a timely perspective on the intersection of finance, development, and sustainability. Kaci Goggans, President of the Finance Society, praised the event as an opportunity to learn from inspiring women who embody the spirit of entrepreneurship and professional growth.
