gypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, stars of HGTV's "Married to Real Estate," have revealed that the show's fourth season finale was actually its last episode. In a statement on social media, Sherrod expressed gratitude for their four-season run and thanked fans and crew members for their support.
The news comes as a surprise to fans, who are still reeling from HGTV's decision not to renew another popular show, "Bargain Block," after four seasons. Fans flooded the comment section with shock and disappointment, including longtime network star Ty Pennington.
Sherrod hinted that there may be more to come in their next chapter, writing, "Not all setbacks are what they seem. Some blessings show up in disguise." Jackson added, "Our God is bigger than any man's choice," suggesting that they're choosing to focus on the positive.
Their fans and colleagues rallied around them, with many expressing shock and disappointment at HGTV's decision. Ty Pennington wrote, "You know, in general I thought I had decent gauge about what TV executives wanted... but the last few years have completely shattered that." Brian Kleinschmidt of "100 Day Dream Home" encouraged them to see their cancellation as a setup for a comeback.
Despite the news, Sherrod and Jackson remain optimistic, with Sherrod writing, "Sometimes GOD will rip you out of a situation to set you up for your next!" A five-episode marathon of "Married to Real Estate" is scheduled to air on HGTV on June 27.
