ex Glendenning, a prominent landbroker behind several high-profile deals in North Texas, is seeking a development partner for his ambitious 600-acre project, King Place. Located in Celina, the site has already received $40 million worth of infrastructure investments, including water and roadways. However, Glendenning is waiting for a major anchor tenant, such as a corporate headquarters relocation, to propel the project forward.
As the mastermind behind iconic mixed-use projects like Frisco Bridges, Granite Park, and The Star, Glendenning envisions King Place as a vibrant community with retail, office space, hotels, and diverse residential options. With his roots in Celina dating back to 1887, he aims to create a lasting legacy asset that honors the town's history.
The development site is situated along the Dallas North Tollway, just north of Glendenning Parkway. Centurion American CEO Mehrdad Moayedi, who collaborated with Glendenning on Legacy Hills in Celina, attended a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for King Place last month. Both men are notable Republican donors in Texas real estate.
King Place will contribute to Celina's booming housing market, which has seen a 17% increase in single-family building permits through September compared to the previous year. The town's population grew an estimated 97% between 2020 and 2023, according to the Texas Demographics Center. Glendenning's project is expected to add to this growth, making it a significant development for the area.
