A
San Francisco mansion where Robin Williams raised his children for over two decades has sold for $18 million. The Italian Renaissance-style villa, built in 1926, spans nearly 11,000 square feet across three stories and boasts panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, and Pacific Ocean.
The property, at 540 El Camino Del Mar, features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and manicured gardens behind a gated perimeter. Designed by Earle Bertz, it combines old-world elegance with grandeur and was specifically designed for Williams' children.
Williams purchased the home in 1991 with his then-wife, producer Marsha Garces Williams, for $3.2 million. The couple raised their children there before Garces Williams retained ownership following their 2010 divorce. Initially listed for $25 million in 2023, the mansion was described as "one of San Francisco's most remarkable estate properties," with period elegance and luxurious scale.
The property features secret rooms and hidden passageways, a library, and a media room with French doors leading to the outdoors. Marsha Garces Williams previously said that the house was "beautiful" and "happy," but she was ready to downsize now that their children have grown.
