Scottish Comedian Craig Ferguson Returns to NYC with $1.79M Home Purchase

Comedian's two-bedroom East 80s apartment is a block from the Met and Central Park.

C
omedian Craig Ferguson and his wife Megan Wallace Cunningham have traded in their Scottish castle for a classic Upper East Side co-op. The couple, who sold their 13-bedroom Ayrshire castle last August for around $5.3 million, has picked up a two-bedroom unit on the East 80s for $1.79 million.

The prewar co-op comes with original details like hardwood floors and moldings, as well as a large foyer with a mural painted by Happy Menocal. The kitchen boasts maximum storage, and the bedrooms share a bath. Ferguson, who hosted "The Late Late Show" on CBS from 2005 to 2014, said he's thrilled to be back in New York, where he met his wife and has always loved the Upper East Side.

Ferguson plans to use the new apartment as a base for his live comedy shows and podcast, "Joy, a Podcast. Hosted by Craig Ferguson." He's also looking forward to exploring the neighborhood's food scene, which includes Three Guys diner, Nectar on Madison Avenue, and Saba's Pizza on Lexington.

The couple was represented in the transaction by Corcoran's Gino Filippone, who said they were under strict instructions to limit their house hunt to a five-block radius. The listing broker was Ria Browne of Compass. Ferguson said he's excited to be back in New York and testing out new material as a comedian.
