Walsh, a Bedminster resident, has ties to the Trump National Golf Club, where he co-chaired the Starry Night Gala. He previously served as chairman of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority under Governor Chris Christie from 2010 to 2018. His business clients have included major companies such as BASF and PSE&G.
