A
striking mansion in Houston's West University subdivision has been sold for $3.4 million to Mexican artist Enrique Cabrera. The unique property, known as the Darth Vader house, boasts an imposing facade resembling a Lockheed Nighthawk stealth fighter and features 7,040 square feet of angular dark slate and aluminum exteriors.
Built in 1992 by Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Jean Cuckier, who was inspired by a stealth fighter jet, the home's interior is just as striking as its exterior. The living area features laser-blue backlighting, a sunken conversation pit, and two floating glass staircases. The kitchen has textured, hand-cut counters, while the primary bedroom boasts angular stone flooring that extends throughout the four bedrooms and five bathrooms.
The eye-catching mansion was previously listed for $4.3 million in 2021 before being sold to real estate agent Jason Junkin of Nitya Realty. Junkin had a sentimental attachment to the property and sought to sell it with another brokerage before reestablishing himself as its listing agent. Cabrera, who is known for his large-scale sculptures in New York City, plans to use the home as a private residence and install one of his bull sculptures on the property, renaming it "The Black Bull House."
