T
he Virginia Retirement System has strengthened its ties with Meadow Partners by establishing a $200m real estate separate account, managed by the firm. This new arrangement follows VRS's earlier commitment of $125m to the Meadow Real Estate Fund VI, which closed in June with $530m in capital commitments.
The MV Real Estate SMA I separate account will focus on core assets globally, investing across various property types such as apartments, industrial spaces, offices, retail properties, and potentially film production studios. VRS expects the leverage level for this new account to be consistent with industry standards for core real estate investments, typically ranging between 30% and 40%.
The capital allocation will enable Meadow Partners to pursue a diverse range of investment opportunities worldwide.
