T
he W. P. Carey School of Business is introducing a new undergraduate real estate degree, set to launch in Fall 2025. This program comes at a time when the industry's significance cannot be overstated – real estate contributes around 13-15% to the US GDP, with Arizona boasting an even higher percentage of approximately 17%.
The degree will focus on experiential learning, providing students with hands-on experience and real-world applications. Key features include:
* A real estate lab where students analyze live deals and work alongside industry mentors
* Immersive simulations that integrate the physical and financial aspects of real estate
* Expanded mentorship and partnerships with the industry, bridging the gap between academia and practice
As Arizona's economy evolves, so too must its approach to real estate. The industry is no longer just about buildings and development; it's a vital component of community resilience and social and economic frameworks. Affordable housing can attract major corporations and create opportunities for generational wealth.
