West 57th Street church lands two new tenants in 'miracle building'

New city landmark to open after Labor Day, a beacon of hope and progress.

T
he long-awaited West 57th Street tower, set to become the new home of Calvary Baptist Church, has secured two major leases. Ten Five Hospitality will occupy the entire ground floor with a new concept restaurant, spanning 7,045 square feet. Meanwhile, medical equipment company AdaptHealth has leased the full 14th floor, taking up 10,275 square feet.

The building's developers, Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and Cain International, have also landed their first office lease. The tower, designed by FX Collaborative, boasts 185,000 square feet of office space and a range of amenities, including outdoor terraces with floor-to-ceiling windows. Calvary Baptist Church will occupy floors 2-10, featuring facilities for its congregation and community programs.

The project's revival was made possible after a loan agreement collapsed in March 2020 due to the pandemic. However, Cain International stepped in with a loan from an affiliate, reviving the $350 million project. The tower stands between One57 and 111 W. 57th St., with office asking rents ranging from $175-$250 per square foot.

The building's amenities floor features an outdoor space overlooking West 57th Street, while the church entrance is located on the eastern side and the office entrance on the western side. The ground floor will also soon be home to auction house Bonhams. Cain International's Eric Poretsky praised Ten Five Hospitality as a "culturally resonant" partner that will bring a unique hospitality experience to the building.
