Winnetka lakefront estate listed for $16 million in high-end market push

Luxury Lakefront Mansion Hits Market in Winnetka, Joining Roster of Ultra-High-End Listings on Chicago's North Shore.

A
Winnetka lakefront mansion is set to hit the market for $16 million, joining an exclusive group of ultra-luxury homes on Chicago's North Shore asking over $10 million. The seven-bedroom estate spans 9,600 square feet and sits on 1.75 acres at 973 Sheridan Road, with a price tag of about $1,657 per square foot. Winnetka has seen several high-end listings in recent months, including a $35 million lakefront estate and another asking for $18 million nearby.

The property's owners, Luke and Maggie Kelly, acquired the home from former Corus Bank CEO Robert Glickman in 2017 for just under $6.19 million. The Luries built the original home on the property in 1991, but it's unclear whether the Kellys performed a major renovation or tore it down completely to rebuild anew. Completed in 2020 by Scott Lyon & Co., the renovated home features expansive windows, soaring ceilings, and high-end finishes throughout.

The estate boasts eight full bathrooms, two half-bathrooms, and amenities such as a sports court, golf simulator, home theater, and playroom. Outside, the property features a guesthouse, patios, a screened porch, and a heated three-car garage. This listing adds to an already impressive roster of high-end homes on the North Shore, including billionaire Justin Ishbia's $77.7 million compound under construction and four Lake Forest mansions asking over $10 million each.
