A rural Scottsbluff woman, granted parole after serving prison time for exploiting an elderly woman through forged real estate documents.

A
woman who was recently paroled after serving time for exploiting an elderly neighbor by forging real estate documents has been arrested again on similar charges. Londa Neal, 49, is facing new counts of forgery, abuse of a vulnerable adult, and attempted theft in connection with trying to sell a home west of Scottsbluff.

Neal was convicted along with her ex-husband Barry in 2021 for forging a quit-claim deed on the property without the owner's consent. The victim, Joyce Nelson, had not been aware of the sale or any contact with Neal since the trial. However, when Neal was released from prison last month, she attempted to sell the property again using the same forged document.

Neal showed the fake deed to a buyer from Alabama and was arraigned on the new charges yesterday. Her bond was set at $25,000, requiring a 10% payment. She is scheduled to appear in court on May 9th for a preliminary hearing.
